Life & Death on Fleet Street is a collaboration with the Coffin Works museum, in the heart of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter. What really struck me on my first tour of The Coffin Works were the distinct changes between the rooms of the factory and how different working life must have been in each one; from the dark, deafening grime of the Stamp Room, to the fast-paced camaraderie of the Textile Room, to the clean, ordered quiet of The Office. My photography combines objects from these defined, yet interconnected worlds, both to illustrate the breadth of the museum collection and allude to the diverse array of narratives and lives that they represent.
